Love in Flames
Love is like a flame that burns brightly, and for firefighter couple Corrine and Joe, their love story blazed a trail to a beautiful wedding day. Celebrations was honored to be part of their special journey, as they embarked on the adventure of a lifetime! Corrine shared all the details of their extraordinary day and the moments that made it truly unforgettable.
Favorite Wedding Day Moment:
My favorite moment from my wedding was most definitely standing at the altar with my husband. I will never forget the way he looked in his suit, the look in his eyes as he looked at me, and hearing him say his vows to me. Seeing him in that moment will be imprinted in my mind and heart forever.
First Dance Song:
We danced to “You're Still The One” by Shania Twain! We took dance lessons and had a beautiful first dance choreographed. We worked so hard to perfect our dance before the wedding on our own, and made the best memories doing it! I would HIGHLY recommend taking lessons with your fiancé before the wedding! It makes for so many laughs and fun little dancing dates!
Most Fun Guest at the Reception:
We had seen so many happy tears and smiles from everyone on our big day, but my husband had a guest attend, his childhood Taekwondo instructor, Keith Lipsey. Keith had a pride and love for my husband all over his face the entire time, and took some of our favorite candid images from the day! Keith went on to post so much about our wedding and express his love for my husband and it was so clear that he was so happy for us, and to be able to witness it all unfold.
Advice for Brides-to-Be:
DO NOT LET ANYTHING RUIN THE REAL REASON WHY YOU'RE THERE. It’s projected to rain? So what. It’s gloomy outside? So what. Your friend who you were looking forward to being there for you cancels? So what. You’re about to marry your best friend and the absolute love of your life. The wedding is just one page in the story book you and your partner will be writing for the rest of time. What matters is every day after that. With this, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND investing in your future as a married couple BEFORE the big day. Joe and I took classes with our pastor in order to invest in ourselves and prepare for life after the wedding! Just remember- the wedding is one day. Marriage is forever!
Learnings in the First Few Months of Marriage:
Joe and I learned the importance of making time for one another and prioritizing our relationship. After you come back from your honeymoon, life hits you hard and fast! You will most likely feel more busy than ever! We bought our house and we’re trying to move in, still work, see family, take care of our bills, and just be new homeowners, all while being newly wedded. Don’t rush! Rome was not built in a day. Make sure that you take time every day to check in with your spouse, and I mean genuinely. Put the phones away at dinner. Turn off the TV and buy a game, or a deck of cards. The natural trajectory of a marriage is apart. You must work every day as busy newly weds to continue to be best friends. BE INTENTIONAL WITH IT!
Favorite Thing About Working with Celebrations Bridal Boutique:
Celebrations Bridal was more of a blessing to me than they may realize. When I got engaged, I was living and working in the New Braunfels area with my family and my husband was living in North Carolina. Due to crazy life circumstances, and our story, I had made the decision that I was going to relocate to North Carolina, which would mean dress shopping two years early so that I could do it with my mother. When I first started looking for a place to get my dress. I was turned away from many places who felt that I was looking too early. Celebrations, however, took me in with open arms and was understanding of my timeline, and still treated me the same as if I was shopping at the ideal time, even though I was not.
My stylist, Suzanne took so much time to accommodate me and allow me and my mom to experience this process together and even allowed us to come back multiple times so I could show my family my dress and just so I could put it on when I was visiting them from North Carolina. They properly handled the shipping and treatment of my dress, and knew how nervous I was that it would be lost in transit! They took extra care of me and reassured me despite my situation and helped me find the most perfect dress. Everyone at Celebrations remembered my story when I came back to visit and asked me about my move and my job, etc- things that you would not think people who see so many different people daily would remember, but they did. Celebrations did not push me to purchase anything if I did not feel I was ready and they always accommodated when I would want to come back and try something on.
Celebrations unlike any other place I went to was not worried about selling me a dress. They were worried about my experience and how I felt. There will always be things when you look back at your wedding that you would change, but I can assure you that Celebrations Bridal is not one of them. Thank you Celebrations!
