Sip, Sip, Hooray?

Ah, champagne and wedding dress shopping! Nothing is more enjoyable than a celebratory beverage while seeking the perfect gown to wear down the aisle. Here at Celebrations, however, we don't serve champagne while you are shopping. We love a good glass of sparkling wine as much as the next guy. So why, when most of the other bridal boutiques are serving up a flute of bubbly, have we eschewed this tradition?



First and foremost, it is a well known fact that alcohol can impair judgement and decision making. We don't want you picking out your dress because you are tipsy. And we don't want the phone call the next day when sober heads prevail and you've looked at the pictures and changed your mind. We want you clear headed so that when you fall in love with your dress (and you will because our dresses are amaaaazing) there will not be a doubt in your mind that the dress you have chosen is perfect!

Second, serving alcohol is a huge liability. Our stylists are not TABC certified. While some of them have experience waiting tables or bartending, others do not and would not know the less obvious signs of intoxication. With multiple appointments happening at the same time it may not always be obvious who is drinking or how much. Our stylists are busy helping you find the perfect dress, so they may not notice if you or someone in your party is unfit to drive. They also wouldn't notice if underage people were being served.

Also, people who are drinking are not exactly known for their grace. There are 300 different gowns in varying shades of white in our bridal suite. The last thing those dresses need is to be covered in champagne because someone tripped over air.

When you buy a full price gown from us, we will give you a gift certificate for a free bottle of sparkling wine at Water 2 Wine! They are just down the block and sitting down with your bottle at this wonderful winery is the perfect ending to finding the perfect dress!



For those who really want to have some alcohol while shopping, we also offer the option of  VIP Appointments. These appointments are the only time that we allow you to bring your own alcoholic beverage into the store. Depending on which appointment you pick, the cost of these appointments is $250-$350. These appointments are held after the store has closed for the day or on Sundays.
